Students build confidence by hearing Punjabi, understanding it, speaking it, and using it in meaningful conversations.
The goal is simple: help students move beyond reading and writing to actually using Punjabi — with family, with friends, at the Gurdwara, and in everyday moments.
Students from English-speaking homes are welcome. Pictures, gestures, repetition, partner practice, and simple sentence starters help every student participate.
Different Punjabi accents and home varieties will be respected.
Optional home practice: one short audio clip and three useful phrases each week. Caregivers do not need to speak Punjabi.
Welcome a guest, explain a family photo, talk with grandparents about childhood, or cook by following spoken instructions.
Invite a friend to play, plan a birthday, discuss school and hobbies, or solve a simple disagreement respectfully.
Buy groceries, order food, ask directions, make a phone call, describe a lost item, or help someone at a store or office.
Practice langar and Gurdwara conversations, share a family memory or Punjabi saying, recite a poem, or discuss a shabad.
If your child is already enrolled at Punjabi School Bothell, there is no need to fill out another registration form. Choose either option below:
Send us a quick email and we'll reassign your child to the Conversational Punjabi class.
Your child may join the class directly, as long as they don't have another class at 9:15 AM.
Please arrive by 9:10 AM and plan to attend regularly.
