Sikh Youth Symposium

Punjabi School Bothell proudly presents the Sikh Youth Symposium — a platform for our students to explore Sikh history, values, and heritage through public speaking.

👉 Important Information
  • • The Symposium is open to all children ages 6–22, even if they are not enrolled in Punjabi School Bothell.
  • • Students may present their speech in either English or Punjabi.
  • • Language choice does NOT impact scoring or results in any way.
  • • Students are encouraged to choose the language they are most comfortable with.
  • • Registration is $25 per participant.
  • • All registration proceeds go to the Sikh Youth Alliance of North America (SYANA), the organization hosting the Symposium.
📋 How to Participate

Read the Guidelines

Review the guidelines for your child's age group below. Understand the topic, time limit, and expectations before deciding to participate.

Register

If your child would like to participate, complete the registration form. Please register early to help us finalize schedules, seating, and logistics.

Pay — $25 per participant

Pay online using the Stripe link, or pay in person at the Help Desk with cash or check.
If payment is a barrier, the school will happily waive the cost and donate on the participant's behalf. No child will be turned away.

Collect the Book

Visit the Help Desk in the lobby to pick up the assigned book if you prefer reading from a paper copy. Books are also available for download below.

Prepare Every Day

Follow the guidelines for your age group and practice your speech at home every day. Consistent preparation builds confidence and helps deliver a polished presentation.

Present on Event Day

Show up on Saturday, March 7th at 10:00 AM at the Main Hall, Gurudwara Sahib and deliver your speech with confidence in front of the Sangat!

Path Forward for Participants

Through the Symposium, participants learn about Sikh history and way of life, practice public speaking before a large gathering at the Gurudwara Sahib, and get an opportunity to represent talented Sikh youth at higher stages — helping prepare future leaders in the community.

Local

Present your speech at our Punjabi School Bothell chapter in the Main Hall of Gurudwara Sahib, gaining confidence speaking before a large Sangat gathering.

Zonal / Regional

Outstanding participants advance to represent our chapter at the zonal level, joining Sikh youth from other SYANA chapters across the region.

International

Top participants are invited to the annual SYANA International Symposium, representing talented Sikh youth alongside peers from across North America.

It's about deepening your connection to Sikh heritage, building public speaking skills, and preparing the next generation of community leaders.
